Rollbar seatback-support recommendations?

Does anybody have any recommendations for a good, safe seatback-support device that fastens to the horizontal member of a rollbar? I know that Brey-Krause makes one, but it looks to me to be small enough that it would punch right through the seatback in the event of a rearward impact rather than support the seat.

My local guy has spent the last six weeks telling me that he's "fabricating one," but I'm giving up on that. Is there anything out there that's commercially supplied that spread potential impact over enough of a seatback to be effective?

Stephan - off topic big time, but was that your article in the latest Popular Science? I haven't read it yet, but plan to. Coincidentally, the project I am working on is featured in the article on future Pentagon weapons (Advanced Tactical Laser) in that same issue.

On topic, I thought that OG Racing sold a decent looking seatback brace, but I haven't looked lately.

www.Stable-Energies.com makes one that my brother is using for his 87 coupe.

Thanks, guys, but the trouble is, both the OG Racing and Stable Energies pieces are in fact the Brey-Krause unit, which I think is too small and too general-purpose to be safe and effective. good news is, my guy has surprised me by neearing completion of the fabrication of the one he's making, which is a nice, solid piece.

Oh, and IROC, my Pop Sci piece in that issue was my Man & Machine column, on "driving" the locomotive.

You've gotta read my new book, "The Gold-Plated Porsche." do a search on Amazon for a nice description of it. On sale 1 June, Wayne will also be carrying it.

I have the Brey-Krause one. In person, it looks like it'd be up to the task. Very well made. I haven't put it in, yet, because it's heavy.
