Emissions testing question?
 

My '72 T still has 3/4 of a tank of the gasoline (Shell 93) that I put into it last November when I winterized it. This along with the "Sta-bil" that was added to keep it fresh. First of all I know that I haven't driven it enough this season yet (my problem!)...
However I need to get an Emission Test for Illinois and would like to know if either the "old" gas or the Sta-bil will effect the test at all or should I simply run to old gas through, put in fresh gas and then test. Thing is I need to do the test ASAP.

I've noticed that engines smoke quite a bit more with Stabil. While that doesn't mean it'll fail I'd go to inspection with a well warmed engine running fresh fuel.

I would run that $h!t out or drain it and use again another time. All that stuff does is keep your gas from turning to varnish, and who knows what chemicals are in it. I don't. If your state is like ours, and old car that does poor in a test is now a gross poluter, and that's one tag you don't want. Oh the pain!!!

Drain the fuel out of the 911 and put into your daily driver. Then refill with fresh stuff.

Seems to me I should just take it upon myself to "run the s**t out of it" so I can get fresh gas in there. Somebodys gotta do it, right!
