Cool Back on the road!

Three weeks and $X,XXX later my SC is back on the road with a rebuilt stock 3.0L engine. I'll let the pictures tell the story...

Started like this:

Then this happened:

...

...

The back of the reinstalled CIS....uuuugly!

Brass oil cooler installed:

We don't need no stinking heater fan in Southern Cal!

She's got a high idle when warm and cold, so I'm going to bring her in to get tuned correctly, but other than that I'm very pleased. There was a dramatic change in the sound of the engine as a result of the rebuild. It is much higher in pitch and more zippery/responsive

I haven't been able to get the oil temp gauge above the first white tick, whereas before the oil cooler install it would hover at 9:00. The true test will come on a hot day in 405 traffic.

Wow, beautiful job!

More zippery/responsive, huh...? I'll have to think about that one for a while. I thought those two terms would be mutually exclusive.

I've got dibs on being the second person to drive it AFTER it's broken in.

Thanks guys!

Eugene, you'll get dibs on nothing and like it! J/k dude!

Jeremy, I'm definitely going to try to make it. Two things that might hold me back: time and a date. 1) Time, the event is only two weeks away, I have to see if I can take that weekend off. 2) A date, I sure as hell ain't getting a hotel room without a lady friend to sleep with!

We'll see what happens in the coming weeks. I just emailed Dave for the additional info.
