By the Numbers.....

I finally got rid of the old "C" - "H" gauge and replaced it with one of PelicanParts numbered engine temp guage conversions. It will be nice to know what the engine temp really is! Now all I need to do is to get rid of that ridiculous 85 MPH speedo!

Nice upgrade! Did you also change the sending unit? They are different from each other.

John,

Yes, I replaced the original sender with the one that came with the guage. I did have one small problem with the sender. When I threaded it into the block and tightened it, the tab for the wire connector wound up pointing down and slightly to the left. No way to get the connector on. After trying several different sealing rings (different thicknesses), I still could not get the sender tab to point anywhere near the top. I finally took a small pair of pliers and bent the tab over to the opposite side. Then when tightened, the tab was pointing up and slightly to the right! Perfect! By using a pair of long nose pliers, I was able to slide the sender wire back on. Total installation time to install the guage and change the sender was about 30 minutes.
