Finished, here it is! + "Carrera cup" pictures

Last weekend I took a trip to this Porsche cup race that took place here in Finland. The race was at Ahvenisto track.

Mika Häkkinen and Salo were driving their cars there also, after the race Häkkinen came by the Porsches and gave autographs to people who were nearby.

I will start with pictures of my car...

Here it is, and me:

From the rear:

There were quite a few Porsche there:

The day was quite rainy and cold. Here is the outlook of the area, there were lotsa people watching the races. My GF shivering on the left:

Here comes Häkkinen and the race winner. Häkkinen came second..nobody wanted to take autographs from the real race winner...hmm..what was his name..i forgot..:

Here he is, giving autographs, surrounded with PCF people:

Here, yours truly, having a great time!

Even though it rained whole day, it was a nice trip. My first time watching Porsche race, and first trip with the car this spring.

Nice Targa, love the colour. All those lovely Porsches, Porsche Cup racing and a beer tent - Heaven - shame about the rain (just like UK).

There is no picture of Salo because he did not show up, I think he was occupied elsewhere, besides he does not drive a Porsche

what more could you ask for in Finland. Beautiful scenery, a race, a line of Porsches as far as the eye can see, and a beer tent. I lived in South Florida for a few years, met and made friends with many Fin's. Always good to see pictures from such a beautiful country.

Hi Zendalar,

Superb pictures, love the car and what a lucky break to meet Mika in person. I have been a huge Mika and McLaren fan for years, have a small collection of signed Mika items and still keep track of what he is doing these days.

I have been to Finland, it's a beautiful country and full of great people.

Last time we were in Finland we were touring in our motorhome. We came in through Sweden, driving up from Gothenburg to the Arctic Circle, stayed at Rovanemi, then drove back down through Kemi, Oulu, Kuopiio, Savonlinna, Kuovola and then Helsinki, where we stayed with a friend of my dad's (a fellow Irishman) who married a Finnish girl and lives with her family on their own island just outside the city. We had a wonderful few days in your capital city & then caught the ferry back to Sweden to spend some time there with my uncle in Stockholm before heading home.

I look forward to visiting again sometime soon, hopefully bring my kids to see Santa's workshop one year! Congratulations again on meeting Mika and best of luck with the car.

Best wishes, John G in the UK
