Help!!!....small tranny leak...
motor out of car...tranny still in. I noticed a small leak out of the area where the shift linkage goes into the tranny. I looked in Haynes and there is a small seal that looks as though it is installed from the outside (front) end of the tranny.....anybody got any experience with this? This is poor timing as car has gone back together and motor supposed to go in this week.

That seal is fairly easy to pull out and replace. Use a seal pick to work it out. Clean the area well, and press in a new seal with a piece of PVC pipe and a few light hammer taps.

There is a Tech Article called Shifter Rod Seal Replacement that may be just what you're looking for. Give it a shot.

Interesting video, Randy ... but absolutely NOT about shifter seal replacement. Might want to recheck that link.
