Sticky hand throttle..

This thing is driving me nuts! When I pull up on the emergency brake the damn had throttle lifts up as well causing the engine rpms to increase. It looks like the emergency brake is somehow pushing the arm on the hand throttle from underneath. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix?
Thanks
Edit: Hmmm, could it be that the piece that you screw down which the plastic piece pushes on is set to far back in the tunnel? Maybe I need to slide it a little toward the front of the car and set it there?
