911s performance exhaust

I'm in the process of upgrading the exhaust on a 77 911s california car.. I'm thinking of going with the ssi exchangers. For performance and sound what is the hot setup for that car. the rest of the engine will be stock.

I'm aware of the performance gain using ssi, but can I use the stock muffler?? Whats a good value on a performance muffler, and what is the best muffler?? Would appreciate any and all opinions.

I have a 1977 2.7L 911s, have you figured out the whole thin flange/thick flange thing?

I have a dent right where a dual out would go, might fill the dent or cut it out- depends on the muffler choice.

have you thought about what to do for smog in california? the ssi's do not allow the use of the air injectors. even if you had tail pipe emissions that are clean enough, the car would fail visual because of missing equipment

Are the 1977 vintage so old that they are exempt from smog regulations?

75 is the youngest for smog exemption right now in CA but the legislation is being changed up so 76 will probably be the last year and won't be legal until Jan1st 2005.

You'll need a dual inlet muffler (your stock muffler has a single inlet) and a new oil line to install the SSI's
