My 1968 Dash has started to crack.....What are my options?

Hi Guys,

I own a 1968 911L.......
My dash has started to crack....
I would love to buy a new dash....
Does any one make them?
Are there other options for repair (none of that carpet overlay crap)

thanx

SWB owners have one less option which is to buy new OE. i believe the 68 is the only SWB with the 2 piece dash. you can contact justdashes.com for the correct thermal vacuum process (provide your dash as the donor). they only do the sierra grain finish. this will cost you about $450. you can find a good used one - good luck. or you can head down to the industrial part of town and find the hot rod upholstery shop that will recover your dash for $125. the only drawback is that they will have to use a french seam around the gauges to wrap the material. i re-upholstered the horizonatal part myself. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1086157678.jpg

How did you go about recovering that dash yourself? I need to do something about my dash, and tweed isn't my style.

If the upholstery shop uses the right material there is no need for the french seam . I just recovered mine with no seam around the gages.

Half way down this page you'll see some options for dash rebuilds... http://www.worlduph.com/porsche4.htm
