I'll second that. There is nothing like begining the work day with a nice Porsche cruise to work and finish it off with a "spirited" drive home to work on the long-hood project. Really makes going to work a treat.

SC Daily Driver Domination!
|
mines been on blocks > restoration for the last half year
but even when ready , i live a mile from my work and i don't have a garage in my appartement so i'de have to walk 3 miles to get the car then drive a mile and a half back to work... to much rain in holland too ... i wish i could drive it daily though and i would if it would make sense to drive it to work |
I don't deliberately take it out in the rain, (if it starts raining when I'm out, so what), and I find as it gets in the 100s, I tend to take the Mazda, which actually has a working air conditioner, sitting on the 405 frwy in bumper-to-bumper in 100+ degree heat with or without the targa top on is not enjoyable when you have a marginal air conditioner.

I drive mine 7 days a week, commuting during the week, and making sure I do at least one drive each day on the weekend. Despite throwing some money at my AC it still is marginal at best, but I've just decided to regress. From my first car ('67 bug) in 1977 up until '94 I never had AC in any of my vehicles. Finally got AC in the 4-runner in '96, but we were living in Claremont (inland CA), and had a baby on the way. So on hot days, I just roll down the windows and pretend I'm 17. Now where's that bong...

What's really great is getting a stoker who's at about my level of fitness and comfort with speed - then we fly! :D |
I drive mine daily in the winter when it rains. It is the my only car that is rain tight! Summers it gets a rest and lots of upgrades / attention because I drive my non p car ragtop. But now in summer, the SC is used for as much track and AX as I can get my hands on!

Every day since purchased Sept 92, 165,000mi. Currently building a new engine for her, although, current one still runs good. Don't ask me why, been collecting and buying the parts for a few years. Wayne wrote the book, allot of folks started doing it, got the itch, cause I could! Next year, new paint.
|
I'm driving my '76 targa for the spring/summer season and if the Porsche gods allow... my '69 coupe thats in the body shop getting a resto will be done in time for fall/winter...then onto my rsr project!
|
You guys that don't drive your P-car in the rain: you crack me up!
|
Crap, we need to get more SC owners to vote! SC daily driver domination is threatened (35 to 35)!
(seriously, though, nothin wrong with C3.2s) |
