Alignment and trailing arm questions
 

Hi All,

I've got a few questions about reassembling my 69E's rear suspension

1) When bolting down the right side torsion bar cover/trailing arm, it doesn't want to slide all the way onto the torsion bar itself....leaving about 1/3 of an inch, which then pushes the LEFT torsion bar further to the left by 1/3". Is there some trick to getting these even from side to side?

2) I lost the diagram that I drew that showed how the bolts, washers and what not go back together on the control arm/trailing arm. I've got one large-headed eccentric bolt, one small-headed eccentric bolt, two normal bolts, thick "normal" washers and thin little washers that have little serrations on them. ...Where do they all go? I understand that the ecccentrics go in the forward holes, but which is camber and which is toe?

OK, so I managed to mix these up also. Yes, I'm stupid and started taking the 2nd side apart without getting the first completely back together.

Can someone put this into the archive?
1. Big eccentric with flat back goes _____________
2. Smaller eccentric with additional postive step under eccentric portion goes _____________


Thanks for helping the unplanned. You know, I took photos of just about everything else. Got the bearings swapped with the forums help, swapped spring plates, torsions, shocks, studs, and now down to the alignment bolts I goofed.

Big bolts and thick washers at the arm. Next up the line is the big allen head that has an eccentric cam on it. The 3rd is the one that has the threads coming out of it off center. That 3rd one gets a nut and schor (spiral ribbed) washer. The 2nd one gets a flat washer, a ribbed and a nut. Use the skinny nut to keep it away from the tire. Use the fat nut on no. 3.
