I need wheel size help

I have 3 pairs of wheels 6x16,7x16,8x16 . I have a 77s with sc flares on the rear so I'm going with the 8's on the rear . My question is will I have less chance of tire rub up front if I use the 6's ? The car is not lowered yet but it will be as soon as I get it reassembled from new paint . Thanks in advance
Jim

You don't mention what the offset is on the wheels (or the type), but in theory any of the above could work in the front.

If you're talking factory Fuchs wheels, then there is a very good chance that the 7s will work just fine. I'm running 8x16s with 245/45s on the front of my lowered '76 and they fit fine. 225/50-16s on your 7s should be OK.

To really answer your question, yes, there will always be less chance of rubbing going with the narrower wheel, but what's the fun in that? :>)
