Need Help - Photo of Cracked Solder Joint?

Can't say I've ever taken a picture of a cracked solder joint when I went to repair it, but now I wish I had. Anyone have one, or have a cracked joint they could photograph in hires (3 Megapixels min?).

Something like this would be great:

Thanks - this is for a tech article I'm working on right now, on DME repair.

Thanks,

Wayne

If you could get some failed DME relays, you can get lots of samples of cracked solder joints like the pic you posted. Wish I took pics of mine before I reflowed it. There were about 6 cracked joints in that one.

What causes the cracking? Cheap solder or heat? If it's the latter, wouldn't aftermarket heatsinks/fans solve that problem?

cracked joint

Hmm, this may sound stupid but, perhaps you have an old DME lying around of which you could cause your own solder crack and thus take a picture?
