problems driving in today
Not one but two problems showed up on todays' 50 mile commute.
First, the car starts bucking as soon as I push down the accelerator. If I maintian a steady throttle, the car sails along nicely, but if I hit the gas to head up a hill or pass someone the car bucks its way up to my desired speed and then smooths out as soon as I return to a steady cruise. This is all pre-boost, by the way, so my first idea is fuel pressure? ANy thoughts? The 2nd problem is a CV joint, I belive. I noticed a tack-tack-tack sound as I pulled off the highway that is in all gears and neutral coast condition. Very hard to say where the sound is coming from left or right, but I'd say it's from the rear of the car. Assuming it's a CV joint, might this "explode" on the way home? Ken

For the noise, check to see if you have some foreign object in your tire tread.
I'm sure others can elaborate, but I think the CVs click when the car is turning and starting from a stop at the same time, and even then they don't explode right away, although you should obviously get them fixed soon. Try the search feature. There are lots of possible reasons for your stumbling on acceleration. Check the turbo low rpm thread on the board now. Paul
