MN Pelicans German Carfest Pictures

Is anyone planning to attend the German Carfest this Saturday, June 12th at Rice Park in St. Paul?

The Audi, BMW, M-B, Porsche and VW clubs are supposedly all going to be in attendance.

Lindy

We break out cars out in April and store them when the lay salt down. The first major snow of the season varies greatly. Typically it is mid November and sometimes through December. There is plenty of time for driving ... Looking at your location, you are probably around the same...

Uhhh... hopefully it is on the 19th as Bullseye is the 1978 car and I can't make it there on the 11th! LOL on the "twice as fast" comment Lindy! Unfortunately my driving record proves that point.......

Bobby,

Technically, I am still trying to set my car up to be able to "drive twice as fast" someday, and should not have included myself in that group. I was really referring to either the local Carrera contingent or to you guys with 7:31 setups, etc.

Not going to make the Carfest thing this year. Sister's wedding reception. Also, seems like a wierd location for the event. I really liked it at the park in Hastings the last few years.

40 years celebration is indeed on the 19th according to the Nord Stern calendar. Shoot, I was going to autocross that day.

Kevin

I'll send you an e-mail before I am in Roseau next for business. Perhaps we could hook up over a cup of coffee or something.

Schuey,

You should do the Nord Stern Fall Colors Tour. I'll be there as will a number of other guys with some older cars. We stay at Bluefin Bay in Tofte on the north shore of Superior. This year were heading up to Thunder Bay, Canada for lunch one day. Always a good time.

The following are a few pictures from the German Auto Fest. The number of cars in attendence was (at least in my opinion) very low:

Sweet ride, though perhaps a set of polished Weld Wheels would be more appropriate

The 928 has a 383 Chevy with absolutely one of the largest roots-style blowers that I have ever seen on a street car (big-blocks included). The carbs are dual 750 Holleys. The owner said that the blower ratio is low (i.e. low boost), and that the car was dyno'd at 540 hp, and that at a higher blower ratio the engine would be capable of 800 hp. on pump gas.

The car attracted a ton of people, however the reaction seemed to vary from sort of a shocked awe to amusement to "what the heck!" (or something stronger).

Now if it had been a blown 928 block, it would have been a different story...
