Help to ID this K&N
I posted this a few weeks ago and didn't get an answer, then I couldn't find it to bump.
Does anyone recognize what these Watershield bases fit? They have been bored out and are much larger than the standard Weber 40 IDA/IDT mounting pattern. Thanks in advance. Sherwood ![]() |

Sherwood,
The holes have been bored out so much that the original mounting holes are no longer there. The holes were originally about 46mm. I can almost guarantee that those used to be mine and were sold with a set of plastic RS stacks. The buyer had them on a RS spec motor for sale on Rennlist a few years ago. Did you not see my response to the original post? Paul

Hi Paul,
Yes, I did see your answer, then I couldn't find the thread afterwards. So these fit an RS MFI? I didn't realize the intakes were different from a regular S engine. That right? Thanks. Sherwood |

Sherwood,
The RS intakes are the same as the 2.4 S. This setup would only work if you duplitcated what i did. The holes are so big now, they wont fit on anything else. That plate orginally mounted between the carb/early MFI intake and the veocity stacks. Since the S/RS intakes have molded velocity stacks, i had to mount the plate on TOP of everything. Since the top of the stack is larger than the bottom it was made to fit, i bored out the hole as to not be restrictive. Cheers, Paul
