What do you all think?

drummer323 06-14-2004 11:47 AM

I like it! Fast I'll bet.

Shuie 06-14-2004 11:57 AM

Are those carbs? Ive been waiting to see a 3.6 with carbs. When is dyno day? What did you use for ignition?

Good job!

KobaltBlau 06-14-2004 12:01 PM

It's EFI. you can see the injectors.

I'd like to hear about the induction setup, though!

BB911SC 06-14-2004 12:02 PM

No, distributorless fuel injection. I need to clean up the wiring, etc. I will get it dynoed in the next couple of weeks. I'll post when I get it done.

Induction barrels are tapered 48mm Jenveys. I'm running it on a DTA PRO8 ecu.

Congrats! That looks sweet!

Nice, the last RSR I looked at was running the DTA setup, seems to do the job almost as welll as the Motecs.

Bill, I noticed you have the same "ruf" bumper setup. How do you keep the front end planted when you floor the throttle? I loose alot of steering response.

Did you do the install on the DTA? Do you do the tuning? How do you like it? And how long has it been running?
Nice lookin car also

Motor conversion in my taste. Congratulations, good job there! With those barrels and DTA, you can run as wild cams as you please...

Again, very nice work!

It’s killing me. I have to ask.

How much of the work were you able to do yourself? How practical is the system to sort out and get running correctly? Can you give a ballpark range of what someone would pay for a setup like that?

I had someone do the wiring and engine work. I did not want to rely on my novice engine building and electrical skills:) I am tuning it myself using a WBO2 for regular driving. I do plan to bring it to a dyno to map for max power. The car has been running about a week (the project has taken over 2 yrs, but that is another story:eek:) .

It is not hard to tune, once you learn the software, (check out DTA's web site). If you are confident in your wiring skills, it is quite possible to do all the work yourself. I figure the ecu, intakes, etc... set me back about 4-5K. I bought a lot of the parts bit by bit.

Last night I did some additional mapping while driving around town. The car is pretty well behaved in traffic, but when you hit the throttle, all hell breaks loose. Lots of fun, a dramatic improvement over the old CIS system in terms of throttle response.
