rear sway bar

Hi all

it's not a disaster but a problem

the point where my right rear sway bar is attached is broken (euro 87 carrera), i believe it's a common failure....
shall i weld the two pieces together again or improve ?

best regards

Common convention would be to either use the improved Porsche part with an improved, reinforced "butterfly" section ( requires welding)..or to fab a husky bracket from scratch ( also requires welding).

Good luck! Mine snapped 3 weeks ago. I just got the car back from the shop. Better than new!
With the age of these cars, I hear that we're starting to see the SECOND failure for these sections. -From the mount breaking, and then hastilly repaired back in the 90's. be sure to check for rust.. that's what happened to me.

When mine broke, I got my upgraded brace from the host and had a bodyshop weld it. I'm told that welding it will be a short-term fix at best. Peace of mind is worth the extra few buck.
