Hey 911cts,

I hope I never loose my sense of humor. Just wondering where the humor was in your quote:

"that sign is great! thats what the bicycles will be doin if they get in my way around that corner... b!tches. wuahahahaha."

The "just kidding" in your second post doesn't make up for the poor taste in your first post...................IMHO

I've been hit by a car where the driver thought like you. He figured he owned the road AND the bike lane. He got tagged, his insurance company payed for my surgery but I lost 3 months of P-Car and cycling time...........

no seriously... Im totally with you. I just simply broke it up into two posts to prolong the suspense... but apparently you missed it. sorry for adding a (I guess somewhat twisted) sense of humor. You probably got hit by some stupid F#ck that didn't even have a clue what he was doing. Not someone like me!

So for here further notice... im one of the more sarcastic ones on the board.

Is that an excuse? I have been hit by a car on my bicycle as well, I was lucky enough to have a relatively cooperative (though at fault) driver. Take it easy on the cyclists out there, please.

911ctS, I fear "sarcasm" is a word many must first look up in the dictionary, and they must be of age, if that be at all adequate...
Of course, your comment about driving cyclists off the road is in very bad taste, not unlike some world-marketed video humor, or politics.
BTW, I have never (and drive as if I hope I never would) driven a cyclist off the road (and "pray" I never do!!!).

It all did start with that traffic sign (is that a real one, I mean "legal"?). Sub-question: are traffic signs things that "any state" can just make up at their whim, or are (real) traffic signs well-defined items from a catalog of "legally defined" signs? I appreciate the signs shown appear to be only "indicative", but clearly they look like they may induce users to make the wrong interpretation (like driving cyclists off the road)... Like, the second sign to me indicates that the coming hill is so steep the rider may fall offa his cycle...???

roadies, enough said. i tried riding with the skinny tyre crowd around the rose bowl here in pasadena on my pimped out XC mtn bike and all i have ever gotten was the cold shoulder. then i show up on my pimped out colnago and im accepted, very strange.

whatever, his post was in jest just like my comment about roadies, i doubt anyone here has any plans of running bikers off the road. im sorry to hear that you got tagged by a car, not fun, same thing happened to me here in pasadena while on a setup ride around the block. glad to hear you are ok though.

oh yeah well in 1994 I struck a Lincoln Cont when I was doing about 35 mph...destroyed my Trek 5500 and cruched up my head pretty good as well (busted up helmet). The car was beat to ***** as well...all because he backed out of a parking place quick without looking. I was ok considering and his Insurance paid for a new bike the following week so I was happy. Now I am a fat tire Freerider and trees are my target! Ha ha

That picture looks like it came from the Newfound gap in the Smoky mountain National Park. Am I correct?

Who mentioned trees, I just just mentioned the Smoky mountains. I can gaurantee you that I am no tree hugger. The road thru the Smokies is an awesome drive when traffic is light.

That sign is found southbound near the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC. It comes after many miles of big easy downhill S-turns, a set-up for complacency.

911cts, i too am damn sarcastic. no humor wasted on me. and i have been run over and busted up by the best and worst drivers on the road. if i cant laugh about it, the WTF? i still cant feel my right foot, from the last "runover". broke my leg and stuff. i find your humor right in line with all the people that make fun of harley, rice rockets, corvettes, water cooled.....blah blah blah....come to think of it, my mountian bike crash, i was hit with a rice rocket being driven by some dude wearing a harley davidson t-shirt, racing a corvette carrying some antifreeze! the bastard! just kidding it was a older greek dude. haha
