3rd fuel line on CIS??

I am installing a used 79 sc CIS motor in 73.5 T that originally had CIS. My old 78 SC CIS motor had a problem and I sold it. It was installed in the car when I bought it.

My question is this. There is 3 fuel lines for the CIS.

1 from the filter
1 from the accumulator
and a 3rd one.

There is a difference between the 79 CIS 3rd line and the 73.5 CIS 3rd line. The 73 is a push on fitting with hose clamp at the body and the 79 is a screw on pressure looking fuel line on the CIS.

IS it OK to just cut the fitting off on the CIS and use a slip on fuel line with a hose calmp? Or is that line under a lot of pressure??

TIA

Is it the fuel return line?

You cite 3 fuel lines, but I think there are only 2. You attribute one line to the fuel filter and one to the accumulator -- those are in series, not separate. Fuel from the tank and pump to one, then the other, then to the fuel distributor on top of the airbox. One line with two components in series.

The second line ("a 3rd line") is the fuel return to the tank. Your 73.5 CIS has that one already, so it is in your 73 chassis.

The line with the filter and accumulator is a pressure line, carrying up to 85 psi, thus the screw-on fittings. The other line is not under pressure.
