Brake warning light woes-$%&! Anyone else have them?
 

I recently put in a new M/C and switches. I bled the brakes until I'm blue in the......old fluid receptacle. I've done the battery disconnect thing (more than once). I've changed the pad sensors.

I cannot get the brake warning light to go away! I test drove the car after pressure bleeding 5 times, and I'd say I've got the stock 1984 version of "the hand of God", in that the brakes feel good and do their job. What's next: electrical tape over the warning light?

BTW- I JUST noticed that my brake lights only come on when the ignition is on. Is that for when you kill the engine and make a quick turn to dodge the cops?:D

You probably still have an air bubble in the MC. An in balance in pressue between the front and rear systems is what trips the sensor in the MC to start with. When you bleed brakes you may not get all the air out of the MC. Did you power bleed the system or just hand bleed them?

I doubt that it is a brake fluid or hydraulic issue!

Did you remove the battery cable while the ignition switch was turned on? The 'trick' only works if ignition is on ...

Similar issues here. New switches, disconnect battery, nothing. Bleed, drive 1k miles, bleed again. Finally got the light out. Major PITA.

Dan: I did pressure bleed. The reason that I changed the M/C was this was the last thing I could think of as I'd rebuilt the brakes last year, and I guessed that I had the imbalance.
