Seine Systems Gate Shift Evil Twin

Hello All,

does anyone know if Seine Systems' gate shift has been sold though performance products? I don't buy from them, but a guy at the track said he got a shift kit from them. He said he bought it from performance products/automotion, and described it just like the seine systems product, adds gates and spring on 1-2 just like 5-R. he said it comes with a purple andodized piece (seine looks red to me). He also said it was under $200. Sounds just like the Seine to me, but I want to make sure it is the same product because I felt his shifter (heh, heh...) and I really liked it.

Thanks in advance,

Rennshift

Robotek? As far as I know, it's the only product similar to the Seine. Rennshift is a shifter replacement.

Here's an ebay link to a goofy variation on the same type of product. At this point, I'd think a long rubber band attached to the passenger door might be a still-cheaper alternative. ;)

Andy,
The Seine Systems Gate Shift kit is not sold by Performance Products. There's a list of resellers on our website; Pelican is one of them.

BTW, our tension bracket component is red anodized. The device Jack links to is was once sold by Smart Racing Products. While providing the spring tension for 1/2, it does not have any mechanical "gates" like our Gate Shift kit.

Hope this helps,
Sherwood

Oops. I called a Smart Racing Product 'goofy?'

Well, at least they discontinued it.

Nope, wasn't rennshift, robotek, or goofy smart racing. it's a kit where you want to weld an additional tab onto the shift lever so it engages the vertical tabs, like sherwood's gate shift. My best guess at this point is that the guy is mistaken on where he bought it from, and it's really a seine. That's all it could be unless there is/has been another product on the market that adds gates like 5-R has on 1-2, and has a spring unit on the right side of the shifter. It seemed to me that sherwood came up with his design from scratch, so it would be odd for there to be another product that is very similar. perhaps it has been discontinued?

I think he called it a "sure shift" or "safe shift" or something... ???? Anyone?

Thanks, guys.

Skip the seine systems,robotek, etc...

Get a rennshift

I have one in my 914 it works great

they make one for 915 boxes

Thanks for your input, Tim.

I will likely buy the seine due to the reasonable price, but this has my interest peaked... I think I can contact the guy that has the shifter in question, I'll send him the link to seine and see if he things it's the same... I'll report back.

Thanks!

FYI, RennShift is now available from Pelican.

Edit - Wow post #1000!

Congrats

OK, contacted the owner, he says "that is the same kit" when I linked him to the seine systems gate shift. he must simply be mistaken on where he bought the kit, since he said it was performance products, and sherwood says the seine gate shift is not available from there.

So.... sorry about this white elephant thread. I did not realize I would be able to contact him when I first posted it.

Thanks, All.

oh, boy, talk about communication problems. Between the guy who has this kit and myself we confused performance products with paragon products, and also "gate shift" with "safe shift". The first one at least was not my fault. But anyhow... thanks everyone.
