G50 clutch pedal adjustment

I recently changed my clutch and driving wise the clutch engagement is rather low on the pedal travel. I understand that as the clutch wears the engagement will move higher on the pedal movement. Any adjustments to raise the engagement slightly higher since I've been use to that degree of engagement for the past 5 years. I'm getting embarassed staling my car in parking lots.

Actually on a G50 car since the clutch is hydraulic I don't think the engagement point will move with wear as it would with a cable operated clutch. In the almost 4 years and 55K miles that I put on my '88 the clutch engagement never changed. It was always near the top of the pedal travel. Could it be that you need to bleed the system? That is my thought.

No adjustment with the G50's. You can/should rebuild the pedal cluster, flush slave cylinder and lastly, change out slave and/or master.

It is fine where is it, just different. I replaced the slave cylinder and bled it thoroughly. Updated to larger throwout fork with new updated bearinga. New Synchro's. Also regeared the tranny. When the old rubber clutch went, it was replaced with a spring loaded turbo one. With these in mind, some change was bound to happen. It now shifts like butter, I just have to push the pedal in a bit more.

Maybe the change from rubber centered to spring centered made a difference. Mine was a spring centered and engaged somewhere around the top third of the pedal travel.

There is an adjustment on the clutch master rod. But it is supposed to be adjusted to a spec. I would check to make sure the rod is in spec. My clutch has sort of a high engagement. I would like a lower engagement though. I wish we could trade.

Dean is spot on. Assuming that the system has been properly bled, you need to adjust the rod that connects the pedal to the clutch mc so that the pedal encouters resistance after approximately 1/8 inch of travel. Do this while the car is running and check your work by accelerating hard all the way to redline a couple of times. If you feel any clutch slippage, you need to take another pass at adjusting the rod.
