SSI install -- should it be this close?

I'm in the last stages of the SSI install on my '77 and the fit between the oil line and the SSI is awful close -- in fact, touching. Should it be this close? There's very little room between the shock and the SSI as well. Anyone who's done this, can you verify? It just seems too cramped. TIA BTW, no broken studs and four that backed out.... Whew.

Perfectly normal. But you may want to tweak the little bracket so that the pipe doesn't touch the heat exchanger.

Hey Tyson, glad to see that you are still alive. We were wondering if you were going to stay in the Fatherland forever. Did you meet a nice Fraulein and decide to work with old Norbert??

Tyson Schmidt 06-23-2004 02:19 AM

Who's Norbert? No I didn't meet any Frauline's that would make me stay in Chermany. It's cold, slow-paced, and the laws are unfriendly to Porsche ownership.

Which really sucks, since the autobahn and the 'ring are both there. I guess I need to win the lottery so I can keep a GT2 there.
