Side mirror quickie

I have a loose side mirror on the passenger side, flag mirror. There is a plastic washer that is missing inside the casing, anyone know what it's called or the serial #???

thanks.

Have you taken the mirror apart?

Normally a loose flag mirror just require the attachment nut to be tighten.

You will need to purchase or make a tool to remove the wires from the connector to the wiring harness. Don't cut the wires or you will end up splicing them back together.

If you don't have the special tool I can show you how to make one for under $5.00 in material.

Yeah, I would like to know about the tool, but I did happen to take it apart and the part that broke off inside was a plastic ring of some sort. I need to replace it and don't know what to ask for.

Lisle makes the tool to remove the terminals from the plastic plug, part # 56500. To tighten the mirror to the mount, it is a triple square hollow bolt but a 3/8 allen head fits perfectly. I also lubed my contact/rotation points with synthetic grease, my mirrors fold back easily when I put the cover on.
