7 x 15 date stamped 573
I have a 7 x 15 inch fuch date stamped 573, does that make it an RS 7 inch rim? and also does it make it worth more than a later 7 x 15? I have a pair going on a car one dated 573 the other 875, the earlier one is has the original black detail while the later is all black.
Thanks Alan.UK |

Hi Alan,
Depends if the center ring takes a 3-prong center cap (in which case, call me before anything else ), or a ring type center cap, in which case the interest is all down.

Hi Noah, how are you ?
No, those ones were 6 by 15. I don't think its possible to check to see which 6 by 15 (front) fuchs were on an RS. These one are 7 x 15 and came on the rear of a 71 E i bought last year. If it is useful to some one with an RS please let me know. Alan

Alan,
Yes and no. The could very well have been on an RS, but not necessarily. I don't know when Fuchs switched to the thin center rings, but I have seen seemingly original RS rims with the thin ring. It would be safe to say that your rim is probably off an RS. its value is that it is in the the correct date range, so someone restoring an early RS built before February '73 would want it. I have only one of these in 7". My owm RS got its wheels stolen in the late 80's, and as result has a set of new never rolled a mile rims, in the correct finish, but with thin center rings. Aaargh! |
