Unknown Engine part
I have a 1981 SC. When I got the car there were a few things missing in the engine compartment (fortunatelly, not the engine!)
I have a cable about 1 meter (3 feet) that connects on one end to the throttle and on the other to a disc with 3 holes (for bolts?) about 3 inches in diameter. What the hell is this and where does the disc end connect? The cable wraps to the left side of the engine compartment. It appears that I need some parts!!! Sorry, no picture but I'll put one up later is no one is sure what this is. Thanks. |
Cruise Control cable, should connect to large canister on drivers side of engine compartment. Has two different diameter vacuum hoses also. If the cruise module(canister) is missing, you may want to locate these vacuum hoses and determine if they are plugged.

Yup, they're plugged. I didn't associate the two. Porsche cruise control.... that's almost an oxymoron.

You're absolutely right. Lose it. Cruise control was the first stop on the road to the Automatic Car that we're now proceeding down increasingly rapidly. I suppose traveling salesmen need it, but in 55 years of driving, I've used it maybe 10 times, and I couldn't tell you why.
