Ultimate 'Sleeper' thread

Have a 3.0+ narrow body or mid year car in an unassuming color on skinny wheels? How about a high compression MFI 2.8 disguised as a stock 2.4T motor or a 3.4/3.5 that looks just like a stock CIS 2.7. Tailless turbo? If you have a 'Wolf in sheep's clothing' kind of car' please post pics and/or details here.

I really like the idea of having a sleeper car. By nature, I think it’s very difficult to make a sleeper out of something like a 911 that has always been known as a performance car. I know that they exist though, so let’s see them. Nothing hypothetical, only cars that can/have been built. Waterpumper conversions, 911s, 914s, and 356s are welcome, but Porsches only! As cool as they are, I really don’t want to see pictures of cars like Jay Leno's Torino.

I'll lead off with my two favorites:

My favorite sleeper car and quite possibly the ultimate sleeper.

I’m not sure what it is, but there is something I really like about this one

I know the above car (silver) it has a lot of power but also a lot of problems (built not by TRE but by born2bfast). I had to help the owner get it home in NYC. He was stalled outside the Lincoln tunnel. I think you can be a sleeper with fuchs, but that is just me. I think this is a real sleeper

The offset looks wrong for them to be the rare 6x15" steel wheels from the “E years”. A long running urban legend has it that the steel Chevy wheels have the same inside diameter as the Porsche steels. This would mean these could be almost any size but given the near stock wheel wells they are likely 6.5”x15s.

Is that Scrappy? Thats a really great looking car. A real giant killer for sure and one of my favorite narrow bodied cars.

Wow, sorry about this. I got those pics from a thread where TRE was sending the car back home a year or two ago.

Yes, the wheels on the brown car are custom. 16x7s or 8s using Porsche centers, IIRC.

I have to agree that any 911 on Fuchs is hard to pass as a sleeper...in fact to the novice any 911 raises questions about how fast it is.

But I do consider my car a sleeper to some extent.

Smith, your car is a sleeper, fuchs or no.

yes, that is scrappy, Tyson has done a lot with her and with him driving she is very much a weapon. He is giving Jack a run for his money in a narrow car! a lot of that is due to Tyson's skills which are, well, pretty damn amazing. he really should be race driver, not a wrench...

BTW Craig, your signature is now taking up 1/3 of my screen! :-) You need to sell one of these cars so I can see the thread LOL

For what its worth, I have always kept that sound file of you coming thru a sweeper in this white car, really cool noise that engine makes. Also liked the one where you pissed off that person down the street with the loud revs!

Paint professionally fixed - about 32k. A true bargain.
Since you asked:
** Interested in my fully setup 3.6 911? **
