washing engine

hello, i just finished changing the oil in my
911 s targa, i used the hose concept because the oil tank bolt is frozen, so oil spurted all over the heater box etc, so i degrease it and washed it off, tried to start but it won't i notice the lights were dim so i jumped it and i started right up, it idle for about 3 min and backfired and stalled, i repeated the jump and it did it again can anyone help??

Try drying distributor cap. Remove cap, spray a little WD40 or other drying agent into cap. Might also want to charge battery overnight and try to start it again tommorrow. This will allow everything to dry out overnight and a fully charged battery won't tax your alternator. Good luck.

May be you blew the alternator with the water.

Usually i just throw it in the machine and put it on spin dry for another cycle
