Regarding color......
Many like it.....It is not a Porsche color.....some sort of Rasberry Metallic deal....... She (Ashley) will be painted 70s Aubergine (Ok, let's call it what it is.....Purple....there.. I said it) this Xmas SvK

looks great! did you replace the "elephant hyde" dash with the brushed aluminum? that particular grain was exclusive to the Ls. your car is aquiring some very unique pieces.
bought my silver prototipo from wayne - thanks! i thought it interesting that this batch was stamped with the date 04/04 which would seem to indicate a new batch or run. would they really make such a low quantity batch? |

Bob,
As I understand it, some 1968 cars did have the aluminum and some the elephant skin..... Can you confirm this? SvK

hehehe....
you are right............... SB1, hehehe i backed out because my 'carbs needed some serious tuning....cost me the price of the armrests...........I was only firing on 5 cylinders...... I'm still in the market and it isn't like me to flake.....recently bought 1400.00 recaro sport seats from fellow pelican.....2 weeks 'till payday.....let's talk then...... BTW Bob is probably beside himself that I'm considering putting 69-73 door trim on my 1968L..........aren' tya Bob ;-) SvK

69-73 door panels on a 65-68 car is blasphemous - the work of the devil
. i'm one to talk. i removed my orig panels for a set of RS panels. since we're sharing pics of new silver prototipos from wayne: note the recent addition of the central air - for the wife on the trip to monterey. |

Nice Bob......
real nice.... I gotta take mine off again.....turns out that my mech cleaned the horn connector ring.......but that removed the grease and now there is this terrible rubbing sound when I turn my wheel....at least I think this is the cause... Steven von Kampen You gotta admit though.....the 69-73 door trim with the aluminum is great to look at SvK

lookin good.
i just got my set of talbot mirrors yesterday. a par of chrome talbot juniors, with convex lenses. they look *****in on my swb with the horn grill mounted fog lights and headlight grills. now i really want to get one of the silver prototipos to finish it out (i will get 911R tail lights next year). i cant afford to do the prototipo rioght now or i would in a heart beat. then again i have the stock wood steering wheel which i like alot. right now im debating on putting on an early s spolier. i have one, sitting in my garage. do i paint it and put it on or do i keep the stock bumper... decisions decisions. pics tomarrow with the new talbots though

Here's a shot I took last weekend of the Prototipo in my L... I've got the elephant skin dash, but its in bad shape, so I've been thinking of removing it and replacing it with something else.
I'm loving the prototipo. I got it, and my harnesses installed at the same time and the change in the feel of the car is huge, although the small wheel can be a bit rough to turn when not moving.
