a good welder in LA?
I have just finished back dating my heat and exhaust system on my 82SC. Everything is great but the exhaust tip is hitting the rear bumper and interfearing with the rear valance. I would like to have it cut off and re-welded on at the correct angle too clear the bumper and rear valance.
Has anyone had this done or can recommend a shop the will not scew it up? Thanks. I'm on the west side in Los Angeles but am willing to drive anywhere in the So Cal area for a good job at the right price. |

I know a guy out in Chatsworth, but you'd have to pay him with cases of Heineken.
Seriously, though. this sounds like something a competent muffler shop could handle.

If it only needs to move a small bit, I have seen mechanics put a large pipe inside the exhaust pipe and use it as a lever to simply bend the exhaust very slightly.

Any decent exhaust place should be able to do it. Find a place that you see install custom exhaust on classic cars. They usually are very savy. Maybe it would help if you remove the muffler for a nice bead all the way around.
