photoshop...is this your car?
Someone asked to have a ducktail photoshop done on their car, I saved the image and just today remembered to do it...now I can't find the post where the member requested it.
So here it is!

The duck tail is, to put it simply, the best looking Porsche tail (followed by the 930 turbo tail).
So, it always looks good (on earlier cars, upto and including the Carrera). I'm keeping my original Carrera tail because it's just that (original) and because it is (much) better performing than the duck tail.

The ducktail is embedded in the rich racing history of the 911, and the favorite of most. I, however, believe the flowing lines of the Carrera tail is the best of both worlds. The most pleasing lines, and performance. Either one is a winner, IMO.

I want one. I wonder what the difference in weight is between a carbon fiber duck tail & a factory Carrera tail. Seems I can save at least 30 lbs by switching.
I agree with Mike, the Carrera tail looks good on any car. The Turbo tail looks a bit much on anything other than a wide body.

Targa with a duck tail
Opinions please.
What is the best tail for an 81' Targa? I removed a large whale tail because it did not look proportional. I'm thinking of a duck tail and in the future converting to RS type bumpers Good idea? |

On the basis of "form follows function", I would emulate one of the many improvements Porsche made to the SC, and one of them is...the whale tail (or Carrera tail)(provided you also mount the Carrera-type rubber front valence spoiler).
These tails provide the best performance compromise on the Carrera, and should do so on the (very similar bodywork) SC.
