opinion? should i duck?

should i buy Moazam's ducktail? my original plan was to copy mark wilson, but maybe the tail-less "lines" are growing on me. what do you guys think?

here is an original photo from the PO:

duck for track days...

no duck for others...

just a thought.

Goose.

Mark Wilson? Never heard of him. .... ;)

Ducks rule! Plus they help in the aero dept.

Better decide quick because i have a feeling that tail will be sold soon.

bob tilton 06-28-2004 09:18 AM

cliff,
i have had the pleasure of viewing this car in person and it is extremely beautiful...as is.

nostatic 06-28-2004 09:25 AM

I had a duck on mine and took it off becuase I liked the clean stock lines better. I wish I had it back though, because I'd slap it on for track days.

That picture always make me double take at the rear Fuch. It looks like the lip is blacked out...looks kind of cool...

juanbenae 06-28-2004 09:39 AM

no tail. i will get a tail when i drive fast enough to need one. if my rear end is light its because ive let off or touched the brakes at the wrong time. both mistakes that a tail will not help once they've been started. i dont track though.

now if its a look your after, well then by all means do wing/tail up. ive been thinking about winging up my civic comuter as of late.

Go with a duck--its an easy mod to change if you decide you don't like it. Just keep your old decklid.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1088445320.jpg

Duckless is better.

makaio 06-28-2004 11:02 AM

I like them both ways. The clean lines without, just say sexy. The tails, duck, carrera, turbo, etc. are just like a diffirent swimsuit.

Schrup 06-28-2004 11:07 AM

No tail if you keep it under 100mph, tail & chin spoiler if you plan to drive it like you stole it. Function aside, unless the car is absolutely pristine I like a duck better than not.

Do the duck!!

I like the duck...
That said, your car looks really nice as is.
Oh heck, yes go with the duck.

DanTheCat 06-28-2004 12:02 PM

Only duck if you're being shot at. :)

You know I like it as-is, but if you had both and it was easy to swap out that might be fun too.

Dan :)

I really like the duck. I have one on my 911E. Since I didn't have a front spoiler at the time, I dropped the nose about 1" in compensation.

Good luck

yes get a duck it will look great on a white car. I had a Carrera spoiler on mine with a steel hood and that thing is heavy ! The duck is much lighter and still feels good at high speeds i tried  Get a Carrera front spoler if you don,t have one offcourse. Keep the lid like others said changing them will take 10 mins only. But beware i started with just a duck and now i,m backdating the whole car :D
