Spark Plug Dust Cover Replacement?
Are the rubber dust covers on the spark plug connectors replaceable?
When we removed the engine, and I was cleaning the spark plug braided wires and the connectors, two or three of them sort of fell off due to age. Some of them were permanently deformed. Is this rubber available separately from the entire set?

Andras,
the replacement part is a VW item. It has been superceded by a newer seal that won't work though- so you can't just go to a VW dealer. I found them online. Do a search for plug connector dust boot or something similar- the correct part # has been posted here before. |

Oh- Warren (Early S Man) gave me the part # I think- If you narrow the search to his posts I'm sure you'll find it.

The old style VW part #111.905.449 was present on all Beru connectors thru '83 production, and on new OEM sets of replacement wires. You can find that part through aftermarket VW suppliers for air-cooled VWs, such as Claude's Buggies/CB Performance ...
