964s are cheap to buy now
Just saw a Craigslist ad for a '91 C2 w/125K miles for only $15800! Not much info in the ad but that's a really low price for a 964. What's next, 996s for $30K?

I've seen 996s below $30K.
Cheap to buy, but cheap to own? |

The 964 is a bargin if you find a good one. They have dropped lower than most 89's. The 3.6 is a great engine and the coil over suspension is a good thing too. Mine never gets hot in traffic either.

Serious question:
What is the insurance like on a pre-owned 996? |

So, $200 oil changes, $300 tires and 2 grand a year to insure, it becomes just a different type of expense. The 964 must fall in line somewhere in the middle. |

In my opinion 964 is the best bang for the buck in a used 911. What you can do with these cars is incredible. And, they are still very DIY friendly.
