Engine Noises

Ever since I've had my '79 SC its had some engine noises that I don't quite like. The most predominant sounds like a tappet that is loose, but I ran the valves and then double checked my adjustment and the noise didn't go away.

The other one sounds like a subtle knock at idle. It seems to go away off idle. I'm not sure if it might be a little piston slap or something else. I'd heard somewhere that there is an intermediate shaft in the 3L that can make a knocking noise but that its nothing to worry about.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Eric
