Not a problem, that was a generalization and wasn't directed towards you in any way. Happy to help

Yes, and in fact it doesn't even help me to have Al Reed's address! From all the good things I have read about Al's work on rims, I'd be mighty pleased to send mine to him for detailing them to full anodized finish...but (from over here and back) it would not be ...cheap (in spite of Al Reeds apparently very favorable rates!).

Al Reed is no secret anymore. He's too good at what he does. His wait times are getting longer. Waiting is not a big deal when you know you are going to receive a quality product. Just make sure you have something to roll your car on before sending the wheels out. The last time I talked to him he said the Viper guys had found out about him and that it takes a long time to polish Viper wheels

This is absolutely true. I took him two sets of Fuchs on the friday before the CFoS at Fontana, which was March 26th, and they still aren't done. That is over 3 months now! Granted, I am having them anodized in the factory style, which adds another step in the process that he has to outsource, but over 90 days is a big backlog.

He's got 16 of my Fuchs in process. Give the man some time to work his magic!

Just spoke with them yesterday, Ms. Reed says they had a massive backlog just cleaned out.

I guess a slew of viper wheels, 18*15 takes a long time to polish

Both Harvey Weidmen and Al Reed are class acts. I think a healthy backlog and a long lead time is indicative of the work that both of these guys do.

Just spoke with Al. He says he is getting wheels shipped in from all over the world, largely due to the internet word of mouth. Not bad for a 1 or 2 man operation. Anyway, he says my wheels are getting anodized today and will go out within a day or two. I sent them 2 weeks before Rennsport Reunion II if that is any indicator of his current backlog. I dont think it will get nay shorter anytime soon.

I would not hesitate to send polishing or anodizing work to either Harvey Weidmen or Al Reed. I went with Al only becuase his lead time estimates were shorter than Harvey's and I was in a rush to get my car back on the road.

As I recall, Al's prices (even with his recent increase) are still better than Harvey's. YMMV.

Turn left from my driveway and go down 1/8 mile, turn right on glassell, go 1 mile and turn left on Coronado. 1/4 mile down on the left. You can't miss it

I just picked mine up from Al last week. Took 10 days for an original black painted center and anodized lip finish. They look awesome!

His shop is small and is literally wall to wall with Fuchs wheels. His "showroom" and "office" are so filled up with wheels that you have to try and manuever around them.

If you're in the area, drop by around lunch time, he is right next door to a strip club.
