No Spark

Hi Pelicanheads, 87 carrera coupe 3.2

I recently had a intermittent no start/no spark,I checked previous threads and checked motronic ignition circuit, all inputs within specs
speed and ref sensor producing a/c voltage and has a good wave signal patterns, power to coil, injector pulses good, but no pulses at negative side of coil.I believe the brain is not grounding the coil circuit.Does anyone have a extra DME unit that I could try,I live in san jose,CA.I will pay a fee,or if anyone has one for sale.any replies appreciated.:(

Robert,

Sounds like it could be a cracked solder joint at the coil driver transistor ...

Wayne mentions it in the following article:

Hi, Early S Man
Do you have a pic of what a coil driver transistor looks like. Also have you ever heard of a ECM Rebuilder named full logic/control systems, they charged $319.00 to rebuild a computer, they are located in Whitney TX, on 952 state hiway 22 ,Whitney,TX,76692 #1-866-622-2959.
If anyone heard of them, are they a reputable company, any replies appreciated. Thanks for the DME info article Early S Man:confused:
