Question Air Conditioner Upgrade

I have an original 1976 930 with the original factory add-on air conditioner package. I have read some older (2000) posts about using the newer freon and would like some recent inputs on how to replace the older freon with the newer. What does it take (parts) and what is the process? The Porsche dealership in Anchorage cannot get the old freon and is at a loss on how to do the conversion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
