CO2 Adjustment
Today was replace the fan belt day and adjust the a/f mixture using science and technology. The fan belt was a no brainer and voila no more slipping, no on to the second task.
I borrowed a friend's gasmaster CO2 analyzer. I have a 3.2 motronic based system so I know the O2 sensor has to be disconnected, I did that. I see in my Bentley that it is supposed to be adjusted to between .6 and 1% with sensor disconnected. My friend told me to run the analyzer out of the exhaust until I get a baseline of 2%, I assume that is normal outside air. My question is do I add the .6 to 1% on the 2% to get a new CO2 reading of 2.6 to 3% or just go to 1%. With the O2 sensor hooked up I get 0 to -.3 no matter what I do. I assume the DME is doing the continuous adjustments. Any wisdom is appreciated.

air is approx 2%, so you can/must cal the meter with fresh air. Do not add or subtract the 2% from your exhaust readings.
Are you measuring without a catalytic converter or before it?
