My '85 Targa recently resurrected from hibernation in my mom's garage.

Why the repaint? Also, since you "updated" your bumpers you might want to change the sugar scoops to H4's - IMO.

Hey ED I must have hit my head on the roll cage
I fell in love with my car after the first drive at the track ( I bought it over a year after I drove it the first time) The cosmetics were quite subpar. I had planned a quality repaint in factory oak green at first then I saw Jack Olsen's car. That inspired me to go the backdate route.
I am not a fan of a color change either. Since the only untouched pannels after my backdate were going to be the doors which had been poorly painted in the past I decided to take the plunge and paint my car. The paint quality when I bought it was maybe a 2 out of 10. With the 3.2 transplant and other mods this car is far from ever becoming a collector piece. For the record I would never molest a stock vehicle like this This bastardized targa is going to be a hot rod now since going stock is no longer an option.

Rosie was glued to that turbo's butt (well, in the corners) as we climbed this fantastic stretch of blacktop on Saturday. Drive it like you stole it!! Every time I drive her she puts a smile on my face.

It's a targa with half a coupe roof on it. I'm going to replace the removable roof with a removable coupe-peice as well (the rest of the roof). The targa bar is still in the car however slightly modified to make space for the roof. The curves of the car are identical to the coupe.
The quarter windows are made of lexan because the normal rubber would'n fit.

I can start a new thread and post som more pics...

thanks

Ya, why repaint a different color? Unless you are going Yellowbird then Guards red is the classic Porsche look!

Weird. I know another guy that has a similar looking car with that same quote in his signature.

Here's mine...probably featured elsewhere in this thread.
