What is the going price on 97 993?

1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet - Guards Red with Black Leather and Black Soft Top with 48,285 miles, Tiptronic transmission. Tiptronic Transmission, In-Dash CD & 6-Disk CD Changer, 17" Turbo-Twist Wheels with Colored Crests, On-Board Computer, Chrome Exhaust Tips.

Thinking about something like this as a daily driver, but not sure where the market is?

Michael

Somewhere between $35000 and 40000. Go look at the cars on Ebay and Autotrader for comparisons.

probably in the very high $30s.
possibly just over $40k ?? if it is in VERY nice shape with all records etc.
the tiptronic cabs usually sell for close to the 6 spd models (esp. in large urban areas) , but do sometimes languish for a while until a tip buyer comes along.

the wheels on the car are actually 17" Boxster, not Turbo twists (which are 18"s)

the exhaust tips look like the desirable (and expensive) Porsche big ovals.

after looking at the plate on the car, it looked like Truspeed Motorcars...
sure enough-
http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/inventory_detail.aspx?@page_stock_no=320

they are one of the few used dealers with a stellar reputation.

Max you are correct, they do seem to have a good rep.

Michael-
I've been watching the inventory at Truspeed for a while in search of that "right" 993 and that 97 cab has been there for at least 4 months. I think the tip trans is making it harder to sell. Perhaps that will provide some leverage for price negotiations. Good Luck!

Make sure to get a PPI on this car. Truspeed has a very good reputation, but that doesn't mean that there aren't problems that they don't know about. A guy on Rennlist bought a 96 C2 coupe from them and the PPI at Hergescheimers revealed the dreaded secondary air injection problem. Truspeed paid for the repair (approx. $5K), so they are seriously stand up guys.
