B&B Oil Cooler adapters

I'm upgrading my oil cooling system and am having trouble finding the right adapters to increase the line size going to my B&B front mounted cooler.

Currently the cooler has adapters on the inlet that are Male-Male with one side being AN-12. The other side that screws into the cooler itself is an unknown thread type/size. My initial guess is size 16 ORB (o-ring boss), but I have no clue. It is way bigger than the mocal style adapters.

My new system is sourced from elephant racing and has Chuck's lines in the rear wheel-well, finned lines going up to the front, the widemouth cooler in the fender with fan, and the big B&B up front. From the finned lines to the wide-mouth cooler the line is 30mm, and I have the 30mm size line to go to the front cooler, as well as hose-end with female 30mm. So I need 30mm male coming out of the B&B cooler.

Anyone know what the inlet threads are on the B&B, and where to get an adapter (I would assume BAT would be a good source once I know the size needed). I would like to avoid AN-12 since part of this whole "upgrade" is to increase line size.

Thanks!

Alrighty, I talked to B&B directly - the inlet size on the cooler is -16 O-ring (i.e. no camfer)

They have pieces to go to AN-16 but not 30mm directly - I'll look around more to see about finding that

I used adaptors from Patrick Motorsport (-16 to 30mm (Porsche factory). They had the best prices. Look forward to lunch one of these days.

If you are not asking for pictures of your 911, you don't get many responses in this portion of the board.

B&B Oil Cooler Adapter

I have a B&B center mount cooler with -12 outlet/inlet fittings, and am looking to upsize to 30mm also to run Elephant Racing 30mm lines throughout the system. My car is a '78SC 3.0CIS.

Were either of you successful finding a combination male/male -16 "o ring" / 30mm fitting to replace the B&B original fittings? Or did you have to use two pieces, a -16 "o ring"/-16 AN fitting and a -16 AN/30mm adaptor?

Did you consider a larger size than -16, or is that the largest/best fit for the 30mm line system and B&B cooler?

Thanks,

Bob

Yes, I've searched Patrick and Bat - don't see a male/male -16 "o ring"/30mm fitting listed.....?

Also try Pegasus- PegasusAutoRacing.com

I recently picked up a used B&B with lines. This design is intended to connect to the OE lines in the RF fender but bypassing the OE Carrera cooler. That's fine for the feed line to the cooler, but I needed to connect from the B&B to the OE cooler and run them both. Here's what I just ordered yesterday from Pegasus:

5' -12 braided stainless line
p/n 3271-12-045 45 degree -12 fitting to connect the new line to the return side of the B&B
p/n 3271-12-090 90 degree -12 fitting to connect the return to the inlet of OE cooler
p/n 1219-12AN Adapter to convert -12 to 30mm female to screw onto the OE cooler

All together, about $125 worth of fittings and lines. Is it ideal? No, I'd prefer -16 lines and fittings but the B&B fittings on the cooler are just -12.

Emerald, I don't think you're going to find the fitting you're looking for. Better to just get the -16 fittings for the cooler, use -16 lines, and then get the -16 to 30mm adapters to connect to Chuck's lines (I also have his finned lines).

Pegasus is a long time supplier of parts and hardware to the racing community and has been my source for Aeroquip and AN lines for years, as well as my source for AN spec bolts and other fasteners, and Motul brake fluid. As a bonus, UPS from their door to mine is just one day.
