Anyone Up in the San Francisco Area???

Anyone want to check out a 912e for me? If this car checks out, I also need some help taking it down to the L.A area were I would pick up the car. If anyone wants to help please P.M and I will give them further details. An no the SC is not out of the question, rather sell my current daily driver car now and get a 912e and make it a daily driver and then get a 911 SC after.

Have you ever driven a 912? Each to his own, and no offense intended, but what's the joy in getting beaten off the line by every soccer mom in a minivan?

I've driven a 912 - a 912E as an everyday driver and I believe you would be suprised, as would the "soccer moms" in their SUV's.

We've embarresed quite a few 911s over the years in some auto-xs and maybe even a couple of 911E's.

I do like the 911E and still own one!!!

as some 914's have done . Some Purists seem to think to have fun in 911/912e typed body you need a flat six and they are some what right(my SC drive was a thrill), but the 4cy can be fun. To each there own.

Actually, to HAVE a 911 you have to have a flat six. Nothing wrong with a 912, but it's not a 911. It's a 912.

I don't get why people are so rude around here sometimes. Good luck with the 912. 912 > 911.
We're all siblings in the flat X, air cooled Porsche family.

Where is the car? The SF Bay Area covers quite a bit of real-estate.

Thanks Guys for the response it’s very much appreciated. I would like a look over by someone that can be very picky and give me detail about the car, the guy faxed over some color pics of the car, but I got them on a black and white fax machine. If the car checks out I would be interested in buying it, but how to get down from Frisco (if it checks out)? I’ll figure something out, for now I just would like someone willing to check it out for me. I will be giving the guy a call today and getting some more info on the exact location, hey gave me 415 and 650 area codes if that helps any.

I live in Mill Valley. There is a guy who has a mustard colored one in primo shape. I see him every sunday at peete's. I have auto - x some 912's that were very fast and beat the pants off a lot of 911's.
If it's in my area, I'll look at it for you.

I guess I was highly offensive which was not my purpose so I apologize to everyone I pissed off.

We are all air-cooled brothers.

I agree, "To Each, Their Own."

I never said that 912 guys have a crappy time in their cars.

I hope to see a 912 in my run group at the next POC Streets of Willow short track event, being passed, and not being able to catch up due to the wonderful balancing of the early 912.

Good luck with your new purchase.

Hope I didn't offend either. I was just saying they are a bit different, I was not saying that either one was better. Depends on your needs/desires.

This is the one in craigslist is it? The ad doesn’t seem to be up right now, but I’ve noticed it on & off for the past few months. I remember it because the first time it was posted the seller basically said not to dare ‘ask for photos as the car is silver & looks exactly like a 911 so that’s all you need to know’ (?!?).

Pinole is in East Bay I think?
