Experience with Ordering Fuchs from Wheelenhancement.com?
Hi,
I'm thinking of ordering refinished 7" and 9" Fuchs from wheelenhancement.com. Seems like an OK deal at $775 per 9" and $205 for exchanged 7" with $100 rebate on my 6" wheels. Any experiences, good or bad? Mike |
Do a search... LOT's of opinions out there. Personally, everytime I've ever called them they have been rude and generally not very helpfull. I would never buy from them... I would look for a used set and send it off to Al Reed...

What?
I just ordered two BRAND NEW 9" fuchs from them at $675 a piece. I think they have at least 20 of them left. They seem like they need another coating of clearcoat, but that's not that big of a deal. Ask about those before you order a pre-owned. Not sure about the prices on the 7". Also, if your wheels are even a bit "unstrait", you won't get your credit. I'd keep the 6's in the event you go to sell your car. Then you can sell the 9's for a pretty penny later on, without dropping the price of the car. regards, |
Same as Geof33. I will not use them again. I think they get off by talking down to you. I would look for used ones as well. The price will be very close if you can find 9's(and they will be used). I have been looking for a set of track wheels so I can attest there are not tons available. The other place I am looking at is Lindsay Racing.http://www.lindseyracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=LR&Category_Co de=GENWHEELS Very good Prices and willing to talk and help you. I am considering the FM-10 not Fuchs but very reasonable – Tim

I bought new 9s from them a couple months ago. I'd buy new 9s instead of refinished. The finish they put on their refinished fuchs doesn't exactly match the factory finish but I'd take a new wheel over used for the same price any day. The guy that answered my e-mail questions was great to deal with. I ordered by phone and the guy that answered the phone was kind of rude but they are the only game in town for new fuchs as far as I know.
As far as the clear coat comment above. I don't think there is any clear coat on the new wheels. You can see the forging marks thru the anodizing though. Once they are on the car, you don't notice it. |
IMO, I would wait and sniff round ebay and here for a while.
I just got a set of 7 and 9's, factory original, small curb scrape on a 9, good bridgestones (75% at least) center caps for $1300. It took me a month of cruising like a hawk, and a 3 hour drive to get them, but it was fun as hell. Next best price I found was $2200 for factory finish, new yoko es100's. |
I have to agree, wheel enhancement does not seem to know their stuff. I'm still looking for track wheels for my 964, but they were selling a set of BBSs that I was interested in for 993s, and they get really upset when I said I didn't want to buy their $400 spacers because I knew for a fact that we'd made a wheel almost the exact size fit on a 964 without mods and that I'd rather just see how little I'd need to get this wheel to fit.

I ordered a set of their new 9s a few months ago. Granted, the phone sales rep wasn't super friendly, but the parts came on time and were top quality and the price seemed reasonable.
I don't like dealing with grumpy sales folks either, but they got the job done at the right price. |
