Funny, the wife came into the garage today and asked, "Whats That?" I replied, " its a race engine", She said, " You already have an engine in your race car" I said, " I know, this is the spare. She shrugged her shoulders and went back into the house.

What an understanding wife. I love her!

She needs more than one pair of shoes, right? ;)

Hey . . . what happened to the motor that was in your car at the Huntington Beach show?

I've been disassembling a 73S I just bought and been thinking about your car. . . I'm going to build a lightweight RGruppe car. It's gonna be so much fun.

Are you building the motor or do you have a shop helping out?

It looks great!!!

Tom

Ahhhh a spare . . . I see

No one helping out, except all the suppliers, Ollies machine shop, embee powder coating and cad plating ( im sounding like a nascar driver). I do all the work at home. I love racing the car, but the satisfaction from turning that pile of nuts and bolts, steel, alum, and magnisium(sp) into something that runs is almost as gratifying.

I have come to the conclusion that Mark doesn't need to work except on race cars. With that kind of financial substance, how can the wife complain about anything?

It's either that, or he doesn't need to sleep because he accomplishes a hell of a lot of work each week!

If he were a golfer, I'd want to be his caddy. Come to think of it, he may well indeed be a golfer as Coto de Caza has two Robert Trent Jones 18 hole courses.

Whatever the case may be, he truely "gets" it by the virtue of his statement:

Quote:

That is certainly a statement I can relate to.

And everything you do, Mark, is stunning.

Looks great Mark. So you planning on running the 2.5L the rest of this season? You going to run the 2.0L next season?

So when are we starting on my motor? :) I have to get all the parts that I have stored at my dads house.

all your motors look great.

126coupe 07-06-2004 09:10 AM

I'll run the 2.5 up to 40-45 hours, then do the swap, all next season I'll probably run the 2.5 unless disaster strikes

Fitted some fiberglass stuff today, all in all the Getty Enterprises fiberglass is excellent, but like w all fiberglass some "fitting was required. The stuff is $$$$ but when you think about buying used stock, plus the imron paint, powdercoating, labor its not that much more and according to the research 5 pounds lighterhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089157765.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089157796.jpg

Chad, Get the parts, the first step is to get everything to Ollies
They (Ollies) are always 4-8 weeks out. What are you building?
2.0 or a 2.5? Do you have a std std 66mm crank? How about P and C's? Alum Case??
