Interested in Renting a Porsche for my Wedding

Next week I am getting married and am quite excited. However my 77 911 is kind of lacking in the visual appearance. Tired paint job is an understatement. This leads me to ask you guys if there is anyone in the Santa Cruz or San Jose area that is interested in making 100-200 dollars by renting me your car for Saturday the 10th. I am looking for a 993 convertable or 996 convertable. There will be no abuse of your car and will only be driven to and from a wedding with no signs or other cr@p on the car. The round trip will be from Santa Cruz to Felton. Anyway give me a call if you are interested 831-588-6010. Thanks alot.
David

Check areound you may be able to get Boxster from a major rental company for that price. I know it's not a 911 but at least it is a Porsche.

A 356 is a great idea I would have never thought of that.

I drove my sister when she got married about 8 years ago when I had a pearl white 1967 Porsche 912, she loved it. It looked nice with the polished Fuch's

Good luck

Congratulations!

My friend owns this rental company and I know they rent out boxster's. Call them to see what other cool cars they have. I am not sure if they have 993 or 996.

lets just say... well first of all, congrats to you and your bride. And if I may add, I think a 356 is alot more spacious and meaningful to... well you know what I mean. Have some fun man!

new cars look all the same to the tourist.. A 356 will be more hard attention to the bride imo.

Wink

How about a stretched 993, enough to make anyone cringe.

Congrats man,
I got engaged in Feb., and my RSA will be doing the driving on the wedding day. Lol, she's making me put the stock seats back in it... apparently wedding dresses and sub belts don't mix.
The 1967 912 is a good idea though IMHO... especially a targa. I had a Tangerine '67 912 in high school, and a friend of mine paid me $120 to take his girlfriend to the prom in the car.

Are you sure your friends and family--and also your wife's-to-be friends and family--are "mature" enough that they won't feel the need to "decorate" (ie. "trash) the car?

My wife and I took a cab because we couldn't trust some of the people in her family to not trash the car. We saw what they were capable of at one of her friend's wedding--petroleum jelly, shaving cream, duct tape, glitter, etc. is not "funny."

I would decapitate anyone who would even think of trashing my 911 and it is far for pristene condition. So would I prevent "trashing" of a car...I would have to say yes.

I gave my groomsmen a very direct talking-to to prevent them from doing anything to my '88 Carrera I was driving home from my wedding with my new bride. They "decorated" it anyway. Oh well - it was still the best day of my life.

My point being: If I had it to do over, I'd just forget about the car and just enjoy the wedding. Good luck!

I got married 3 months ago, and my future wife then, wanted me to use my Targa for the day which I was until my neighbour offered me his friends Lambrioghini Diablo VT roadster (black) for the whole weekend got it Friday gave it back Sunday night, I know its not a prosche but was an offer to good to refuse, Ill post some pics when I get them from the Wedding photographer,
it was simply awsome, not as good as the Targo though lol

BH Rent a Car.. Holy Cr@p that's expensive!

I can rent a std 996 coupe here from Avis for €540 for the whole weekend. They only give you 600 free kilometers (€1 per km after that... ouch), but that's a heck of a lot cheaper than $649 a day. What a ripoff. I didn't think anything was cheaper here in Germany.

I rented a Jag XK8 ragtop in Hawaii back in '98 for only $110 a day.
