New 22/28 T-bars WOW!
 

I just spent a good part of this Fourth of July weekend replacing my stock t-bars with some Sway away power barz 22/28 soild.
I'm still kinda sore from fighting the install on my mostly stock '77.
I used the archives for Thom's and Wil Ferch's method of using a degree indicator for set up the rear's and it worked great!
I ended up at 24 3/4" in the rear (the hard side) and 25 5/8" in the front.
Now it's time to send to Jae Lee @ Mirage International (shamless plug) for the align & corner balance. I've had some Lemforder TT rods on my shelf for a couple of weeks and was going to do them this weekend, he said it would take him 45 minutes to do. OMG it would take me 4-5 hours depending on how many Carl Straus/Bass (plug in your fav. beer) to do, for an extra 60 bones I think it's worth it after all the old threads I've read.
Drove it a little this Monday and did a few twisties, I really can't tell much in normal street driving but start driving agressivly and the car feels like it's on rails compared to the stock t-bars. I'm sure she'll feel better after a street/track align and corner balance.

Rick, how's the ride harshness with this setup? I'm thinking about migrating from 21/26 to something more aggressive, but the 73E still sees plenty of street use. Thanks and congrats on your suspension project!

I just put 22/30s in my 73. I have not been able to drive much - still waiting on the alignment but I agree. I can barely tell the difference!!! in normal driving. Definitely stays flatter when I push a little.

Ride quality has more to do with shocks than with torsion bars/springs. My ride with 22/28 toriosn bars and custom revalved Bilsteins is much less harsh than with the stock torsion bars and stock Bilsteins. It is firmer now, but less harsh/jarring with bumps. If you have Bilsteins now, think about sending them into the factory to have them rebuilt and custom revalved to match your torsion bars for about $65-75 per shock. You will be glad you did!

Jim, I went with 22/28 for more aggressive street/ AX/DE, I also have a little more weight in the rear w/ 3.2. Your car is lighter so it might be a shade stiffer. I have to agree with Elombard, honestly can't tell the difference in the couple of times I driven (roads are fairly smooth). When I try to make some aggressive turns the car's much flatter and feels solid. I really like it so far.
