Petit Le Mans in Sept.

I was wondering if anyone from the mid west was driving down to Road Atlanta in Sept for the Petit Le Mans finale ? If I get my painter off his but and get my car back together I was considering driving down . So I'm wondering if I'll have any support along the way .

Can you tell me how to get from south bound 75 to Braselton without having to go all the way down to the bypass and then back up . Thats more fun than I want to endure this year .

you gotta go that way...GA road planners are rejects from the school of road planning, and they won't build the outer bypass...

there's several roads across the top of GA, but plan on it being the same amount of time or longer.

As ATL mentioned it might not be any quicker time wise, although mileage wise it would be shorter to take Georgia Hwy 20 (Cartersville)all the way across from I-75 until I-985, then north for 3 exits until Hwy 53, and after turning right, R/A is @ 5 miles down on right.

Better yet, take a left at any GA-I-75 exit higher than #326 and wind your way down thru the North Georgia Mountains. It will not save any time but......oh the roads!

I am sure some of the Atlanta & GA Pelicans can list their favorites for you.

Yes same Highway 20 but a long way (~25 miles stop and go.). I may go up if there is a Porsche corral, its pretty expensive for part of a day. I cant get away for the whole thing.

I wonder how it would be to come interstate from TN? to NC/SC? and down 85? probably alot more miles.

I hit Marietta about 2pm on Friday last year and it was stop and go all the way around to 985 so I think 20 it would be alot more senic .

You definately want to stay out of Atlanta and I 285 at any time of the day. Look at Cleveland TN exit on 75, looks like Hwy 64 will take you across the bottom of TN/NC over to 441/23 south. This will run into I 985 an on to Road Atlanta. Much better drive!
