How do you remove old weight adhesive from back of fuchs?

My fuchs have cleaned up pretty well, but the adhesive left from the weights doesn't seem to want to come off the back of the wheel. I guess the adhesive has never been removed because there are quite a few spots. Any trick to cleaning this off?

3-M makes an adhesive remover. Any parts store.

M.E.K. Methyl Ethyl Ketone is the best but be careful not
to inhale and use rubber gloves. Next will be Naphtha.

I have been cleaning up a set of Fuchs and used toluol (toluene) to clean the inside if the wheels. Takes off all the adhesive, cosmoline and brake dust without harming the paint on the inside of the wheels. If the tires are off the rims this will also clean the black rubber marks on the inside rim of the wheel. Always use gloves and a very well ventilated area.
